Příručka 72 hodin (72 Hours handbook), published by the Interior Ministry with 68 partner organisations including the integrated rescue system, alongside the website 72h.gov.cz 18. Distribution of 5.2 million printed copies to household mailboxes by Česká pošta was announced on 27 October 2025, in waves throughout November 2025 8. Where should I start?

Three steps cover most of what the Czech authorities ask of households:

  1. Supplies. Build the 72-hour home supply and an evacuation bag per person 15. Start with the kit checklist.
  2. Know the signal. Learn the 140-second fluctuating siren and what to do: shelter, close windows, turn on ČT1, ČT24 or ČRo 1 Radiožurnál 2. See alerts.
  3. Know your shelter. Look up permanent shelters on the Terinos map and ask your municipal office about improvised shelters 4. See public shelters.

Then put it in writing with a family emergency plan.

What is still being confirmed?

Cell Broadcast alerts by mobile phone were approved in May 2025 and planned for the second half of 2026, but no launch had been confirmed on official sources as of October 2026 9. The alerts page says so. No official source we consulted sets a rule specific to private shelters, and the Interior Ministry has no information on private shelters outside its register 3.
