Short answer. Qatar publishes no official emergency kit list. No list of items or quantities was found from the Ministry of Interior, Civil Defence or the Government Communication Office. On 6 March 2026 the Ministry of Interior urged the public to consume responsibly and avoid unnecessary stockpiling, saying markets and healthcare facilities were operating normally 1.
What is on the official Qatari kit list?
There is none. The official list, item by item, is empty:
| Item | Official Qatari quantity |
|---|---|
| Water | Not published |
| Food | Not published |
| Light, radio, batteries | Not published |
| First aid and medicines | Not published |
| Documents | Not published |
Phaenyx searched the Ministry of Interior portal, the Qatar News Agency and press reports of official guidance from February and March 2026. University and private guides exist but are not official, so they are not reproduced here.
What official advice can I use instead?
Two things are official and useful for preparing:
- Emergency numbers. 999 for police, ambulance and fire; 992 for people with a hearing disability; 991 for electricity and water 2. Keep them on paper. See Qatar emergency contacts.
- What to do during an alert. Stay in safe areas inside buildings, away from windows, until the threat is declared over. See Qatar emergency alerts.
Where do I find general kit guidance?
Our guides set out what foreign and international agencies recommend, each with its own sources. They are not Qatari official advice:
- What goes in a 72-hour kit?
- How much water per person per day?
- First aid kit
- Emergency lighting and Emergency radio
- Important documents
- Infant supplies and Pets
In Qatar's climate, water deserves particular attention; our heatwave guide explains why.
How do I build a kit without panic buying?
The Ministry of Interior's message of March 2026 was aimed at unnecessary stockpiling during a crisis 1. A small kit built up gradually, using items you already rotate through normal use, does not conflict with that message. This is a general principle, not an official Qatari recommendation.
