Before 112, requests for help went to separate numbers belonging to different institutions. The 112 centre's own page explains: "Ülkemizde yardım talep ve ihbarları çeşitli kurumlara ait 155-156-158-110-112-177 vb. acil yardım telefonlarına yapılmaktadır" — in our country, requests for help and reports are made to emergency numbers 155, 156, 158, 110, 112, 177 and others, belonging to various institutions 1. Can I reach 112 by app?
Yes. The AFAD Acil app, from the Ministry of the Interior and AFAD, lets you make a voice or text emergency call to 112 with your location from a disaster area 4. It also shows a map of disaster assembly areas 4.
