How are existing shelters checked?
A national inspection of shelter capacity and condition is under way in phases. It uses a checklist drawn up by the Agency for Societal Security with Local Government Denmark (KL) and outside experts, based on these rules 34. Do these rules apply to a private bunker?
BRS 09/2003 covers sikringsrum in buildings and BRS 10/1993 covers public shelters 12. No official guidance was found on a voluntary private bunker built outside the Shelter Act; see the build a shelter page. Whether and how these rules can inform a private project is a question for a qualified engineer.
